Braved the heat and went out on the damn yesterday after work.  Got two sunnies and a nice two pound bullhead. 

Went night fishing yesterday morning.  Learned about backlash on my bait caster.  Lol!  I did get about six cast in before the birds nest arrived.  Using the 6 foot rod I did manage to land a monster 6" baby bullhead! The next fish somehow broke off my weight, then got the leader all knotted up on my swivel.  It was a nice two pounder but end my fishing.  Hard to tie leaders in the dark.

Just got back in from doing some night fishing.  Bringing the bait caster wasn't a good idea.  Got a birds nest on the sixth cast.  However, the 6-foot spinning landed a nice 3-pound bullhead.

Left the house at 5pm, and was back home by 5:30.  Caught six fish in 20 minutes!

Yesterday I grabbed two beers and my poles and headed to the damn to fish in the heat.  After about 20 minutes of soaking up the heat, the bite started with a painted turtle.  In total 6 sunnies, one small bullhead, and the turtle.  I made it about an hour. 

Fished off the damn for about an hour yesterday.  Got four bullheads, not bad.  One real small one. 

Finally, no wind!  I went to the beach yesterday to do a little fishing.  Trying the 15-minute rul.  No bites in 15 minutes, means no fish in that area.  There were fish there last night.  Not bites for my bass swim bait.  But when I switched to worms the sunnies came out!

After my yard work yesterday, I hit the concrete block on the damn.  Got a nice bull head and a perch.  My buddy Gary and his son were fishing for bass from their boat but had only caught one.

Spent about a half hour on the damn yesterday.  I was feeding the fish quite well.  Lost six worms before I hooked into the massive lawn chair.  Good thing I had the heavy pole, it was hard to land!

The damn was not bad yesterday.  The wind was insane.  I did manage to pull out a bullhead, perch and a sunnie.

The beach was good yesterday.  Got there about 3pm, and got a bite on the first cast.  The sun fish were hit the jig headed nightcrawler on it's way down.  Once I figured that out, they were easy to catch.

I fished the beach yesterday after work.  Got four nice sunnies.  They were pounding my night crawlers.  Went through almost a whole tub of worms.  But it was worth it to catch fish, water finally warm.

Weather was perfect for some fishing and cold beer yesterday.  I got a little perch off the damn, he was stealing my worms.  But then I got a good bite and hook something big!  When it was done playing with me, it just snapped the 8lb test and swam away....

Fished the corner of the damn yesterday.  Hand the Cat pole loaded with night crawlers and the 7 footer was working a swim bait.  All I got was a little dude.  Maybe better luck today.

The weather broke yesterday about 4pm and I headed to the damn.  Fist cast got a sunny.  They I started to feed something.  Sucked four nightcrawlers off the hook while I was trying to set the hook.  Then finally got a hook up.  Nice bullhead!!  Solid three pounds.  Plan to hit the damn again today.  Not sure if it will be morning or afternoon.

Got to the beach about noon yesterday.  The only thing that was working was night crawlers.  I would spray the night crawlers with minnow spray and let them sit.  First fish was a nice 2 pound bass, then 2 perch, and 2 sunnies.  It was a nice afternoon on the lake.

Got out on the damn yesterday.  Had the tandem catfish rig with night crawlers.  No bullheads but got a little perch on it.  No bites on my Berkley minnows.  Water still a little cool.

I was hoping to fish Thursday after work, but the wind was insane!  Planning on hitting the lake on Saturday and Sunday morning fish the Big A Low river.

Melissa and I fished the beach yesterday.  Pulled in one perch.  But they are now biting.  Hopefully Saturday I can get out and find some bullhead to fry.

Fished off the damn yesterday for an hour.  No bites.  I was trying bacon for the bullheads.  Didn't work this time.  

I tried on the lake yesterday; I saw fish but did not catch fish.  Had a nice bass on the edge of the damn following my bait.  But it would not hit it.  I tried for a couple cast.  Then it got bored with me and swam off.  A couple perch came by also, but no interest in my jigged-up leach.

I got to the Big a Low about 9am yesterday.  Fished a bit from the left side of the bridge, no bites.  Went to the other side and no bites.  I have never been skunked here, wonder what happened.  Then I see it.  I couldn't figure out what the round hole in the bank was from.  A Beaver!  Looks like a yearly and has claimed under the bridge as it's own.

The Big a Low was stocked this week.  I will be hitting it in the Natie this weekend.  Water is a little high, but it should be fishable.

The ice sheet moved on me this weekend.  It crashed into the damn, blocking the whole the end of the lake.  My weather team (Me, Myself and I) is telling me to make plans for Sunday.  I am also keeping an eye on the trout stocking.  This year I am going to fish the whole stretch of the Big a Low from Rt. 44 to Rt.198

Going to fish off the damn today with a big Rapala to see if I can pull a bass out.

Ice is almost gone on the lake.  I am going to start the year off with large shiners from the damn.  The shiners worked good ice fishing, let's see what they do in the summer.

Some kids had a little party on the beach, figured I would hit it.  Got .11 cents and some foil.  LOL!

Hit the beach near the house yesterday.  Ran the machine on high sensitivity.  I found my first every pocketknife.  A little two blade pen knife, with bone handles.  Plus .53 cents, 2 quarters and five pennies.

Sunday, I did the beach on the far side of the lake.  didn't do bad got .4o cents, 1 quarter, 1 Nickel, 1 dime.  Plus, a half dozen fishing weights.

Went to the town park today.  Dug up .99 cents.  I have the little coil on and i have it on a high frequency to detect smaller targets.  Worked out well 95% of the holes were coins.  I have already pulled about $9 from this park, didn't think there was much more!

I have the detector set up for deep small targets.  I headed to the redneck treasure triangle and pulled out three pennis.  Not bad in 45 minutes.

Went in the yard for a little bit .  Pulled two more pennis from the spill, makes 79 out of a two foot by two foot area.  Then a quarter in the back yard.

Yesterday I went down to the stone wall by the damn.  Found some bullets and a lot of barb wire.  Ground was still frozen in some areas.  Shotgun willy looked like it came from the ice age.

I didn't go to the cellar hole, but I did go out on the rock wall behind the house.  I had the sensitivity set to 8, real chatty!  I backed it down to 6 and it smoothed out.  Had one good signal and that ended up being a blob of lead from a fire.

If it is warm enough this weekend I will try to hit this cellar hole with the big coil.  Hoping to find some relics!

Found a new cellar hole today.  Can't wait to hit it in the spring!

Hit the park again yesterday for another .63 cents.  I am at the point now I can pick out a penny in a pile of pull tabs.  Today Melissa has a craft show, so I will have six hours of no supervision!  Time to hit the farm hard!  E. Spaulding here I come!

Decided to do the town park again yesterday.  The wet ground is carrying signal nicely.  I got out a $1.04 in about an hour.  Very little junk this trip.  Mainly stayed on the soccer field and by the pavilion. 

Went out in the wind to the town park.  I managed to pull out .27 cents.  Then came home!

Hit the farm yesterday for a couple hours.  Nothing good, except two old ox shoes.

I am getting much better at hearing the right tones for coins over the junk chatter.  I was able to cherry pick six pennies out of the red neck treasure triangle yesterday.  Plus one Ore from Denmark.

Hit the new spot on the farm yesterday.  Mostly found ammo.  Including one live 30-06 shell.

Hit the town park yesterday, scored a single penny.  I did get lots of the wire used on the chain link fences.

Fished at Hammmonasset beach this weekend.  Fished Friday night and Saturday morning.  Hit both jetty's with no luck..

Spent four days at Hamonassett beach.  Fished a bunch but no luck.

Fished at Hamonasset Beach for the day.  I was fishing of the jetty.  No luck, but I didi catch a nice sun burn. 

Fished Stoning point yesterday.  Didn't catch anything.  Got one bit on the Fishbites squid.  The new Ugly stick worked great.  125 yard cast are easy with this pole.  Can't wait till the couple days down at the beach!

Watching the weather, hoping to go out on the Hellcat on 6/24.  First boat trip of the year!

Found a nice place in Groton to fish.  Has grass, shade, and big rocks to fish from.  Melissa enjoyed sitting in the sun and taking pictures of the boats and ships.

Heading out today to Stonington Point to do some surf fishing.  It has been over 12 years since I have fished like this.  Hoping to catch some schoolies.
