The two King Kat poles showed up on Friday. Looking to fish the Thames river next year.
Had fun on the beach today with the 16 foot jigging pole. I walked into the weeds and scared out the sunnies. Then fished out when they came back!
Hit the beach and the damn today. Got a nice four pound bull head! Caught while a little girl was playing at the beach. She was amazed when I landed it and she got to look at it.
Fished the area where the lake drains. I was fishing a Ned head with a Gulp minnow. The bass came out of the deep like a freight train. Missed the first hit, but then it swung back around, and hit it hard. All this three feet from the bank.
Pulled a 2 pound bass in at the beach Sunday. Fishing is starting to die down. I have been fishing 7 months straight!
Fished the damn Friday night. We were able to get a nice bass and a sunfish. Saturday night we struck out. Not one bite.
Fished the beach yesterday in the heat. I stood in the lake up to my neck. Did land one nice large mouth bass. Made it about an hour.
Fished in the heat again yesterday. Made it about two hours, then had to go in.
Anya loved to watch me fish
Cash to Date: $12.02
Hit the park again yesterday for another .63 cents. I am at the point now I can pick out a penny in a pile of pull tabs. Today Melissa has a craft show, so I will have six hours of no supervision! Time to hit the farm hard! E. Spaulding here I come!
Decided to do the town park again yesterday. The wet ground is carrying signal nicely. I got out a $1.04 in about an hour. Very little junk this trip. Mainly stayed on the soccer field and by the pavilion.
Went out in the wind to the town park. I managed to pull out .27 cents. Then came home!
Hit the farm yesterday for a couple hours. Nothing good, except two old ox shoes.
I am getting much better at hearing the right tones for coins over the junk chatter. I was able to cherry pick six pennies out of the red neck treasure triangle yesterday. Plus one Ore from Denmark.
Hit the new spot on the farm yesterday. Mostly found ammo. Including one live 30-06 shell.
Hit the town park yesterday, scored a single penny. I did get lots of the wire used on the chain link fences.
I hit the same area I did last weekend and found the buckle. This weekend's best find is the Ox Knob. Working on getting an age. Also found a reloaded 32-20 cartridge. Old shell, early 1900's.
Heading to where I found the buckle this morning. This time I will use the small coil and hit the area harder. See what I can pull out of that courtyard.
The colonial buckle was dated to 1720!
While headed to the new site, I came across a cellar hole. Found a couple nails, then pulled out a colonial shoe buckle! Worth the 1.5 mile round trip hike.
Tomorrow I will head in a little deeper to this site pictured to the right. Looks to be a barn.
The park was packed! four other people! I did manage to get .25 cents, soda tab, and a Budweiser cap.
I did the beach on the other side of the lake only pulled out a nickel. Today we will hi the town park to see what treasure we can find!

Watching the weather, hoping to go out on the Hellcat on 6/24. First boat trip of the year!
Found a nice place in Groton to fish. Has grass, shade, and big rocks to fish from. Melissa enjoyed sitting in the sun and taking pictures of the boats and ships.
Heading out today to Stonington Point to do some surf fishing. It has been over 12 years since I have fished like this. Hoping to catch some schoolies.

between buying the house and having no vacation time, I didn't go deer hunting this year.
Talked with my buddy Mark down the street. Got permission to hunt his land again this year. Saw a deer crossing North Rd on my way to work yesterday. This will be my 43rd season in a row.
